Construction of Vermicompost Unit
Description: The Green Audit Cell constructed the VERMICOMPOST UNIT in the back side of the B.H. College Auditorium. The purpose of constructing a vermicompost plant unit in a college campus is to manage organic wastes to produce nutrient rich compost. It also promotes sustainable waste management and support sustainable agriculture. Vermicompost can help improve soil’s water holding capacity, reducing water consumption. It also provides hands-on-learning opportunities for students to understand sustainable waste management and organic farming. It also encourages students, staff and faculty to participate in sustainable practices and take ownership of environmental initiatives.
