Bhasha Gaurav Saptah is being held from 3 November to 9 November 2024 to celebrate for achieving Assamese language as classical language as per direction of Assam Government. The event was organized by BH Sahitya Chora and began with the song 'Chir Chenehi Mor Bhasha Janani' The seminar was attended by Dr. Bhushan Chandra Pathak, Principal of the College and Dr. Hemanta Deka, Associate Professor, Assamese Department as resource persons. Dr. Pathak explained the vast scope of the Assamese language at one time and the seriousness of the contraction observed at present. He beautifully analyzed the mistakes made by people at various levels of society in the field of spelling and grammar of the Assamese language. Dr. Deka explained the nature of classical languages and analyzed the reasons why Assamese language has gained the status of classical language and gave an enlightening explanation about the antiquity and heritage of the language. The Vice-Principal of the College, Ranjit Bhuyan, explained the facilities available in the field of recruitment after the Assamese language gets the status of a classical language. Dr. Dipmoni Das, Associate Professor, Department of English, made the program interesting with her juicy comments. The event was attended by hundreds of students and teachers. The event was moderated by the President of the Sahitya Chora, Usha Das.
