Prize distribution to the B. Sc. Toppers on 23rd September 2023

Description: Six outstanding B.Sc. toppers, including the best graduate of the year 2023, were celebrated at a memorable event. The star students, their respective fields and ranks were as stated : Physics: Abhijit Paul (GU 3rd rank), Mathematics: Asifa Ahmed (GU 2nd rank), Zoology: Jiman Parasar, Botany: Hakimuddin Sk, Chemistry: Barasha Nath and Statistics: Poulami Saha This grand occasion unfolded during the freshman social meeting on September 23, 2023, witnessed by an audience of at least 3000 enthusiastic students. The highlight of the event was best graduate prize, which included a prestigious certificate and an elegant Assamese Sarai. Additionally, the recipient was gifted two remarkable books: "Newton's The Principia" by Sir Isaac Newton and "Ignited Minds" by Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam. The felicitation commenced with Abhijit receiving an Assamese Phulam Gamocha from J. P. Roy Choudhury, the Head of the Physics Department. Subsequently, the prizes were presented to him by the esteemed Principal, Dr. B. C. Pathak. For the other distinguished awardees, certificates were accompanied by the captivating reads of "A Brief History of Time" by Stephen Hawking and "Ignited Minds" by Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam. They were initially honored by their respective department heads / professor : R. C. Deka (Mathematics), Dr. Nabajit Das (Zoology), Dr. B. Borkataki (Botany), Dr. R. Talukdar (Chemistry) and Dr. Chavan Kr. Sarmah (Statistics). Each student was also adorned with an Assamese Phulam Gamocha. The culmination of the event saw the prizes being conferred by distinguished guests, including the Vice Principal, Prof. Ranjit Bhuyan. After the ceremony, a delectable lunch was served to the six accomplished students, making it a truly delightful and memorable occasion.
