Wall magazine inauguration, 3rd March, 2021

Description: NATIONAL SCIENCE DAY 3rd March, 2021 B.H.COLLEGE, HOWLY On the occasion of National science Day, ‘The Science Forum’, B.H.College, Howly organized a day long programme. The programme includes the inauguration of Wall magazines of six departments of Science stream along with its judgment by Sri Pranjit kumar Das Sir, Honourable President of GB, B.H.College, Howly and Retd. Prof. of Department of Mathematics and Sri Binoy Kumar Basumatary Sir, Retd Prof. Department of Zoology, M.C.College Barpeta. Also a motivational talk to be delivered by Dr. Chavan kumar Sarmah, Assistant Professor, Department of Statistics, B.H.College. At last a merit award distribution ceremony was arranged for distinguished students of the year 2019 and 2020 The programme started at 11.00 am. The President of The Science Forum, Dr. Bhushan Ch. Pathak, Principal, B.H.College was felicitated with a phulam gamosa by a student. The Assistant Secretary of the Forum, Mukesh Ramchiary introduced our Chief guests Sri Pranjit Kumar Das Sir and Sri Binoy Kumar Basumatary Sir to the students. They were felicitated by phulam Gamosa. Next, the Wall magazines of the department of Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Botany, Zoology and Statistics were inaugurated by our Chief Guests. During the programme, Dr. B.C.Pathak, President of the Forum; Faculties of Science Stream and students of each department were present. After the inauguration, the Chief Guests judged the wall magazines by having a long interaction with the student’s representatives of the each department wall magazines. The judgment was finished by 12.00 noon and they were very amazed and satisfied by the wall magazines. The next programme started at 12.30 pm in Seminar hall. The Assistant Secretary of the forum, Mukesh and Julifa with the guidance of the Secretary of the forum, Dr. Suruchi Singh, Assistant Professor, Department of Zoology, B.H.College, started the programme with a warm welcome and also stated the significance of the day. The Assistant Secretary of the Forum, Mukesh Ramchiary introduced our Chief guests Sri Pranjit Kumar Das Sir and Sri Binoy Kumar Basumatary Sir to the students and welcomed to the dias. They were felicitated each by phulam Gamosa, a handmade cane timber Jaapi and a pen and a pot with a plant. Next Mukesh introduced Dr. Chavan kumar Sarmah and welcomed to the dias. He was felicitated by by phulam Gamosa, a handmade cane timber Jaapi and a pen and a pot with a plant. Next, Mukesh explained the objectives of the National Science Day and its theme. After that, President of the forum, Dr. B.C.pathak was invited to say few words. He with his motivational story inspired the students to work hard and be disciplined in life. Next, our chief guest Sri Pranjit kumar Das Sir was requested to say few words. He started his speech welcoming everybody. He said the students the importance of science in our day to day life and encouraged the students to spread science in the society. Next, our chief guest Sri Binoy Kumar Basumatary Sir was requested to say few words. He expressed his gratitude to the college for inviting him as chief guest. He shared his experience as a teacher in Department of Zoology, B.H.College. He inspired students to be hard working and to be disciplined and maintain sincerity. Sneha Das on the behalf of everyone expressed the views by saying that the keynote speech of our Chief Guests was encouraging for the students and their words will help them in different aspect of their life. Next the Merit award distribution ceremony was organized for the students who secured highest percentage in each department. The award comprises of certificate and a bundle of books named The Dale Carnegie Anthology (Set of 5 books) and a momento for the Best Science Graduate. The Best Science Graduate Award was also awarded to students who secured highest percentage of marks among all the Science departments for the year 2019 and 2020. For the year 2019, the students awarded with highest marks of each department are--- 1. Farhina Sultana Khanam of Dept. of Botany. 2. Dimpy Dey of Deptt. of Chemistry. 3. Masuma Khanam of Deptt. of Mathematics. 4. Papri Choudhury of Deptt. of Physics. 5. Suravi Nath of Deptt. of Statistics 6. Neha Das of Deptt. of Zoology. • Best Science Graduate, 2019- Neha Das of Dept of Zoology. For the year 2020, the students awarded with highest marks of each department are- 1. Salma Aktar of Dept. of Botany. 2. Puja Banik of Dept. of Chemistry. 3. Dipankar Basak of Dept. of Mathematics. 4. Simanta Das of Dept. of Physics. 5. Biju Roy of Dept. of Statistics 6. Bitasta Paul of Dept of Zoology. • Best Science Graduate, 2020- Dipankar Basak of Dept of Mathematics. Next our invited speaker of the day Dr. C.K.Sarmah was requested to give his motivational talk. He started his speech welcoming everyone. He started his speech on how to achieve a goal. He discussed about the good qualities a student should have to get his goal. He asked the students to be sincere, disciplined and hardworking. At last, our Chief Guest declared the result of wall magazine competition. The 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize was received by Department of Chemistry, Physics and Botany respectively. The consolation prize was given away to the department of Zoology, Mathematics and Statistics. The theme of the wall magazines were – 1. Department of Physics – Ubiquitous Physics. 2. Department of Chemistry – Cosmetic Chemistry. 3. Department of Mathematics – Magical Mathematics. 4. Department of Statistics – Covid Numbers 5. Department of Botany – Technology-A Boon and a curse. 6. Department of Zoology – Be wise- immunize. At last Siddharta Talukdar, a student of B.Sc with Zoology Honours, gave the vote of thanks and thanked everyone to be the part of the programme and making it a successful one and urged the Secretary of the forum to organize this type of motivational programme regularly.
