A Disaster Management Cell (DMC), established in a college is a proactive measure to ensure the safety and well- being of students, staff and faculty during emergencies. DMC helps to build a resilient and disaster ready institution.
The purpose of establishing the cell:
1. Ensure timely and effective response to emergencies and disasters.
2. Promote disaster awareness and education among students, staff and faculty.
3. Develop and implement emergency response plans and procedures.
4. Enhance preparedness and resilience to disasters.
5. Provide support and resources during disasters.
6. Foster a culture of safety and emergency preparedness.
7. Comply with regulatory requirements and standards.
8. Protect the college’s infrastructure and assets.
9. Support the well being and safety of the college community.
10. Support community resilience and disaster risk reduction.
