The B. H. College Society for Humanities and Social Sciences was founded on January 9, 2013. The college formed this cell with the goal of enhancing students' creative abilities and assisting them in becoming stronger leaders and decision-makers. The society includes all of the instructors and students in the arts stream. Shortly the cell is known as SHSS.
The objective of this forum are-
1. To motivate the pupils by congratulating them after success.
2. To take steps to ensure the children' overall growth.
3. Publication of a research paper.
4. To support the economically disadvantaged pupils financially.

Special Lecture on NEP, 2020 at B.H. College | The Society of Humanities and Social Sciences of B.H. College, Howly, organized a Special Lecture on 28th September on New Education Policy, 2020. Dr. Balendra Kumar Das, Pro Vice Chencellor, University of Science and Technology, Meghalaya delivered an illuminating speech covering various aspects of the NEP, 2020. The Programme was chaired by Dr. Debabrata Dutta, President, Society of Humanities and Social Sciences abd anchored by Miss Bidisha Dowarah, Assistant Professor, Dept of English. Dr. B.C. Pathak, Principal B.H. College delivered the welcome speech and Dr. Padma Sarkar, Assistant Professor, Dept of Economics explained the objectives of the meeting. SPECIAL LECTURE ON HUMAN RIGHTS (22/11/23) | The Society for Humanities and Social Sciences has organized a Lecture on “Human Rights.” Dr. Sabyasachi Mahanta, Principal, Gargaon College delivered his informative speech on Human Rights. Dr. B.C. Pathak, Principal, B.H. College along with the other faculty members and students of the college were present at the programme. Dr. Padma Sarkar explained the objective of the programme. National Seminar on Society and Transformation (5th & 6th April, 2024) | Society for Humanities and Social Sciences of B.H. College, Howly organized a two day National Seminar on "Society and Transformation" on 5th and 6th April, 2024. The goal of the seminar was to make an assessment of the progressive transitions and transformation witnessed by civilisation and how the society has evolved over time.
