Freshman Social on 3rd October 2023

Description: The Freshman Social of the Department of Physics took place on Oct 3, 2023, with the aim of honoring the first-sem(H) students. The event was organized by the Major students from the 3rd and 5th sems under the dynamic leadership of Poppy Narzary (5th sem). The stage backdrop featured a stunning night sky adorned with the solar system and stars, creating an enchanting atmosphere. A highlight of the evening was the introduction of a miniature model exhibition. The program commenced at 2 pm with a melodious chorus performed by the students. The program was presided over by the HoD, J.P. Roy Choudhury, who extended a warm welcome to the freshmen. He praised the students for their nice arrangements and encouraged them to collaborate closely with their teachers for an enriched learning experience. He also urged them to engage in discussions with their peers to address any doubts arising from their classes. The purpose of the gathering was eloquently elucidated by Azizul Sheikh (5th sem). Prof. S. K. Nath, enlightened the attendees about the concept of ‘Hi-Fi’ and ‘high class’, and advised them to follow the right path while emphasizing the importance of nurturing their academic careers. Prof. D. Deka, commended the students for their outstanding introductory program led by 5th-sem students Rujbul Hussain and Albert Kujur. He applauded the freshers for showcasing their inherent talents and also encouraged them to embrace new technologies such as AI. The evening's highlight was the announcement of awards, with Hena Ahmed receiving the title of Miss Fresher and Bhargabjyoti Das named Mr. Fresher. The event also featured a cultural program, with mesmerizing dance performances by Poppy Narzary, Jyoti Mandal, and the first-semester students, showcasing their remarkable skills.
